Welcome

The Academic Partnership formed by DCT International Hotel & Business Management School of Lucerne, Switzerland, and ALPINE CENTER, The Swiss Business School for Hospitality & Tourism Education of Athens, Greece

Both DCT and ALPINE CENTER follow the Swiss philosophy of training and education combining both practical and theoretical learning to ensure that you are able to put into practice the theories of management that you learn in the classroom.

Both institutions are fully accredited and enjoy collaborations with American and British universities, as well as memberships in leading trade associations.

DCT and ALPINE CENTER both focus on offering you educational programs that will help you achieve your career goals within the global hospitality, tourism and culinary fields.
Our institutions are specialized in these areas, and offer you programs at a level to suit your current situation -- from shorter professional development certificates, all the way to fullyaccredited Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree programs.

Programs at both institutions incorporate periods of paid industry placements, thus enriching your classroom learning with real-life work experience.

Transfer of credits and additional continuing education opportunities are among the many benefits available to you as a result of the academic partnership between ALPINE CENTER and DCT, such as:

When you are enrolled in ALPINE CENTER’s Culinary Arts Program, you may choose to transfer to DCT in your 4th semester. This will allow you to earn a DCT Advanced Diploma in European Culinary Management in only six months, followed by six months of paid Swiss internship.

If you begin your studies in Switzerland and first earn your DCT Advanced Diploma in European Culinary Management, you may then decide to transfer to ALPINE CENTER to complete the requirements of a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Culinary Arts Management within about one year.

After you graduate from the Bachelor’s Degree or Pre-MBA Post Graduate Diploma programs at DCT, you will have the option to transfer to ALPINE CENTER to earn your Master’s Degree in an accelerated time frame.

Ideal Campus Locations

DCT is located in the charming village of Vitznau, directly on the shores of the famous Lake Lucerne, just 20 Km from the city of Lucerne. The location of the School in this important tourism location is of enormous value to you as a student, because you will be able to observe and experience in the city and its environs all the various hospitality businesses that your lecturers discuss in classes.

ALPINE CENTER is located in Glyfada, an up-scale suburb of Athens situated along the western coast of Attica on the Aegean Sea. ALPINE CENTER’s programs of study are conducted on the premises of a real hotel where you will be both a guest and an operator at the same time. For many students, this is the initial professional opportunity to understand first-hand the essence of all service industries: customer-focused quality.

Excellent Accommodations

On the DCT campus, you will stay in a double or triple hotel-style room. All rooms are equipped with a private toilet, bathtub and shower, color television, direct-dial telephone and free wireless internet access 24/7. All rooms have either a refrigerator or a
separate kitchen, and bed sheets, pillows, and blankets are provided. Deluxe double, single and deluxe single rooms are available in limited numbers and at an extra charge.

In keeping with the traditional Swiss philosophy of blending classroom theory with practical application and management competencies, ALPINE CENTER’s programs of study are conducted on the premises of the Palmyra Beach Hotel. You will be provided with linen and towels. All rooms have private bathrooms, phones, and televisions, and are covered within the ALPINE CENTER’s wireless LAN.

Paid Work Experience and a High Employment Rate

A paid industry training internship is a requirement of all of the Diploma and Degree Programs at DCT and at ALPINE CENTER.

This real-world experience will give you the opportunity to apply practically what you learn during your time on campus, and also will help you to develop necessary operational skills so that you can start your career after graduation in a very competent and confident way. Both DCT and ALPINE CENTER assist students in matching their requirements for practical experience with local industry needs as closely as possible to ensure that students gain the maximum benefit from this valuable industry experience.

Students at both institutions enjoy a high employment placement rate reflecting both the students’ competitive advantage as well as the dynamic efforts of our Career & Placement Offices, which help students launch their careers in many ways.

Examples of this assistance include organizing annual Career Days and ensuring that students learn to write resumes, be interviewed effectively, and develop professional communication skills. After graduation,
ongoing support from our Career and Placement Offices and Alumni Associations continues to help graduates identify the best career opportunities.
